THE ORCHARDS:

A Brief History

Over 40 years in the heart of Marlton! The Orchards at Greentree Village was built in 1980.

The site of the Orchards was formerly Byron T. Roberts Farm, a 300-acre family-run apple, peach and pear orchard, Christmas tree farm, and fruit packing house since the 1910s. Mr. Roberts had a notable farming career, serving as president of the New Jersey Peach Council, Chairman of the Committee of NJ Apple Growers, a past president of the New Jersey Horticultural Society, and was a one-time Chairman of the Evesham Township Zoning board.

The farm and land were sold in the late 1970s. Linpro Corporation began development on the residential units in 1980.  The color scheme is rooted and inspired by the colors of historic Philadelphia.

As Marlton has continued to develop over the years, the Orchards has remained a beautiful and quaint little community surrounded by the conveniences of modern-day Evesham Township.

See the following spotlights from A View From Evesham and Mark McKenna Realtors on a more detailed history of our 40-year-old development.
